Lord Shiva….

Posted: May 4, 2012 in Uncategorized

Shivaย  is a major Hindu deity, and is the Destroyer or transformer among the Trimurti, the Hindu Trinity of the primary aspects of the divine. Shiva is a yogi who has notice of everything that happens in the world and is the main aspect of life. Yet one with great power, he lives a life of a sage at Mount Kailash. In the Shaiva tradition of Hinduism, Shiva is seen as the Supreme God and has five important works: creator, preserver, destroyer, concealer, and revealer (to bless). In the Smarta tradition, he is regarded as one ofthe five primary forms of God. In the Hindu religion he is said to be the most merciful of all the Gods but when angered he is feared by Gods and Demons and Humans equally.

  • The sketch depicts a Trident which is his weapon of choice.
  • Snakes are said to be devoted to lord Shiva and he wears one on his neck which denotes wisdom and eternity.
  • Sacred Ganges: The Ganges river flows from the matted hair of Shiva. The Gaแน…gฤ (Ganges), one of the major rivers of the country, is said to have made her abode in Shiva’s hair. The flow of the Ganges also represents the nectar of immortality.
  • Crescent moon: Shiva bears on his head the crescent moon.

Adabhuta means a Wonder

To me the most astonishing process is the birth of a child……..Its just magical……..From the moment the baby is conceived to the time it is born……and what follows after that…..

Here i depict in this sketch a mom holding her baby for the first time……..didn’t go into detailing just the emotion…… ๐Ÿ™‚

Vatsalya means love of our parents…..

It is more of a conceptual depiction than a drawing……
It depicts how the eldest member of the family acts as the foundation stone (thus the leg is merged with a stone), he is also supporting the rest of the members of the family and connecting them to the roots of the tree (The home) and also making sure they are protected by keeping them under the shelter of the tree although he is not bothered that he himself is standing under the direct heat of the sun….

My tribute to all the Dads and Moms in the world and to the love they give there children………… ๐Ÿ™‚
